How To Use MAME?

What is MAME?
M.A.M.E. is the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator authored by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME team. M.A.M.E. let's you play thousands of old-school arcade games on your computer.

Where i can get MAME?
You can get MAME in http://www.mame.net/downmain.html

Where do I find these "ROM"-files? What are they?
On the internet! Use Google to find it!
You must Save the file to the "roms" sub folder of the M.A.M.E. installation directory. For example, "C:\MAME\roms\". Do not unpack the file. Leave it zipped.

How to use MAME?
The usual way to run MAME is by telling it to run a particular game:
mame [gamename]
Or you can use command, or example:
mame robby -nosound
...will run Robby Roto without sound. There are many, many options
available. All currently supported options are listed below.
An alternative way to run MAME is to give it a command:
mame [parameters]
For example:
mame -listsource gridlee
...will print the name of the source file where the gridlee driver lives to the screen.
