Connecting Nokia Phone to Computer as a Modem Through Infrared

I've just bought cheap Nokia 6020 with Infrared and GPRS features. Because I want to connected this Nokia 6020 to computer as a modem through Infrared, I got trouble when PC want to sync with Nokia 6020. The message is "Wireless link interrupted the link has been blocked or the device has moved out of range".

Im sure I have plugged the USB IrDA adaptor (SigmaTel USB-IrDA dongle) and the phone position correctly, but the message always appear. Even Windows XP can recognize the Infrared without need to install the driver, I think the problem is in the driver and Nokia PC Suite. So I install the driver and Nokia PC suite, but this solution is not solve the problem.

If your Infrared position is correctly and still see the message "Wireless link interrupted the link has been blocked or the device has moved out of range", When you try to dialup using the Infrared port, try the following solution. In the System Tray, right-click on the Infrared icon and select Properties. Click on the Hardware tab and select Properties.

When the Properties window opens, click on the Advanced tab and select the Infrared Transceiver Type property. Change the value to "Vishay TFD".

You should now be able to use your Infrared port. To make new Internet connection follow this steps:

1. Select Connect to the Internet. Click Next.

2. Select Set up my connection manually. Click Next.

3. Select Connect using a dial-up modem. Click Next.

4. Check the option Infrared Modem. Click Next.

5. Give a name to your ISP. Click Next.

6. Type in the phone number to dialup to your ISP for GPRS access.

7. Select My Use Only. Click Next.

8. Enter your user name and password to login to your ISP.

A new Dial-up Connection icon will be added to the Network Connections icon. Simply double-click on it and click on the Dial button to get connected to the Internet.

Seiring meningkatnya popularitas penyimpanan data online (online file storage), banyak para pengguna yang memanfaatkan layanan ini. Keunggulan penyimpanan data online ini adalah sifatnya yang fleksibel, dalam arti kita tidak perlu repot lagi membawa media penyimpanan data dan kapasitasnya yang cukup besar. Sayangnya untuk menyimpan data ke internet apalagi jika data tersebut cukup besar bisa dibayangkan berapa lama waktu yang diperlukan untuk meng-upload data tersebut.

Salah satu penyedia layanan penyimpanan data online yang cukup terkenal adalah Rapidshare (meskipun banyak penggunanya yang meng-upload file-file ilegal). Mereset atau format ulang biasanya dilakukan jika ada program yang korup di drive C: handphone Anda. Pada contoh kasus; tentunya beberapa data bisa hilang, mengganggu kinerja handphone, beberapa aplikasi mungkin tidak dapat bekerja atau hanya bekerja sebagian. Series 60 (S60)
Pada ponsel berbasis S60 v1 (N-Gage, 3650, 7650) kuncinya ada pada dua langkah yang akan mengijinkan handphone Anda ke posisi awal yang bersih.

Microsoft mulai minggu ini mengeluarkan fitur baru bagi para pengguna Windows Live Hotmail. Yang paling menghebohkan adalah penambahan kapasitas Inbox Hotmail versi gratisan menjadi 5GB dan 10GB untuk versi berbayar. StarOffice Ditawarkan Gratis Oleh Google

Google menambahkan koleksi Google Pack-nya dengan aplikasi office suite berbasis OpenOffice.org buatan SUN yaitu "StarOffice Productivity Suite". Penambahan ini menjadikan aplikasi StarOffice menjadi koleksi ke 13 khusus OS Windows dalam paket Google Pack, selain aplikasi-aplikasi lainnya seperti: Skype, RealPlayer, Adobe Reader dan Spyware Doctor.

Normalnya StarOffice berharga $70. Tetapi di Google Pack, Google memberikannya secara cuma-cuma. Hal ini nampaknya sebagai tantangan terhadap Microsoft yang selama ini produksinya me-monopoli pasar office suite yaitu Microsoft Office. Dan ini juga menandakan bahwa Google tidak tertarik untuk membuat atau melakukan branding terhadap aplikasi office suite-nya sendiri, yang selama ini telah menjadi rumor sejak tahun 2005.

Bagaimanapun juga pendistribusian StarOffice oleh Google tidak akan berdampak terlalu besar bagi Microsoft Office. Pukulan yang paling berat mungkin akan diterima oleh Corel WordPerfect dan OpenOffice.org yang selama ini hanya mendapatkan pangsa pasar yang sangat kecil di-segmen aplikasi office suite.

Mengenal Amstrad CPC

Amstrad CPC merupakan "komputer rumah" seri 8-bit yang diproduksi oleh perusahaan asal Inggris: Amstrad, selama tahun 1980 sampai 1990. CPC merupakan kepanjangan dari "Colour Personal Computer" yang tersedia dalam 2 versi yaitu: layar hijau (GT65/66) dan standar layar berwarna (CTM640).

Amstrad mengeluarkan CPC 464 pada tahun 1984. Didesain sebagai pesaing utama Commodore 64 dan Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Dipersenjatai mikroprosesor Zilog Z80 yang mempunyai kecepatan 4 Mhz, 64 KB RAM dan 32 KB ROM dengan Locomotive Basic 1.0, tape deck, kartu suara polyphonic AY-3-8912 (Yamaha YM2149 compatible), 3 mode grafis (160x200x16, 320x200x4 and 640x200x2) dan layarnya sendiri (baik berwarna maupun hijau monokrom), serta dukungan hardware eksternal (RAM expansions, floppy disc drives, joysticks, printers, dll).

Kemudian pada tahun yang sama Amstrad mengeluarkan CPC 664 yang dilengkapi Locomotive BASIC 1.1 dan menggantikan tape deck dengan 3" disc drive (termasuk 16 KB ROM disc operating system sendiri: AMSDOS), tetapi tetap mengijinkan penggunaan tape deck eksternal yang dapat dipasang.

Pada tahun 1985, CPC 6128 dikeluarkan yang mengikuti CPC 664 dengan RAM internal yang lebih besar (128 KB) dan menjadi salah satu komputer yang paing terkenal di negara-negara Eropa. Short Message Service atau disingkat SMS adalah layanan yang paling sering digunakan, bahkan melebihi aktivitas dalam menelepon secara langsung dalam menggunakan telepon seluler. Karena tarifnya yang lebih murah serta prinsip bahwa "tulisan lebih bersahabat daripada lisan" menyebabkan banyak operator telepon seluler mendapatkan keuntungan yang besar dari penyelenggaraan layanan SMS ini.

Tetapi sayangnya terdapat batasan dalam fungsi SMS ini yaitu jumlah maksimal karakter dibatasi yang hanya 160. Kemudian seiring perkembangan teknologi, SMS mengalami evolusi dari EMS kemudian MMS yang mampu mengirimkan pesan dalam wujud multimedia serta jumlah karakternya mengalami peningkatan menjadi 1000. Meskipun MMS telah diperkenalkan sejak lama, tetapi tetap saja SMS paling banyak digunakan daripada MMS. Oleh karena itulah pihak Cellity menciptakan aplikasi yang bernama Cellity freeSMS, yang mampu mengirimkan SMS gratis melalui GPRS. Banyak media dan ahli TI di seluruh dunia memperbincangkan tentang Web 2.0. Mereka menyebut Web 2.0 sebagai era interaktif web yang sebelumnya pasif dan statis menjadi aktif dan dinamis. Banyak yang berpendapat bahwa Web 2.0 memungkinkan terjadinya daya tarik baru bagi para pengguna web di seluruh dunia, karena kini mereka tidak lagi tergantung untuk mengunjungi salah satu situs yang meng-update konten-nya demi mendapatkan sebuah berita. Tetapi kini mereka bisa lebih cepat mencarinya sendiri dengan bantuan search engine atau RSS Feed. Jika perlu merekalah yang menjadi sumber berita dengan bantuan weblog atau disingkat blog.

Majalah Time menempatkan para pengguna web sebagai "Person Of The Year 2006". Menurut laporan Lev Grossman "Ini adalah cerita tentang komunitas dan kolaborasi dalam skala yang belum pernah dilihat sebelumnya. Web 2.0 memungkinkan terwujudnya orang dari seluruh dunia menyediakan konten web".

Tetapi dibalik semua manfaat dan kemudahan dibalik Web 2.0. Kita juga harus sadar apa dampak buruk yang bisa kita dapat dari Web 2.0. Berikut adalah dampak negatif dari web 2.0. Dalam hal ini kita mengambil contoh dari kasus Blog, Myspace dan YouTube.

Ada salah satu blog yang khusus menyediakan konten pornografi, yang bisa diakses dengan bebas oleh orang di seluruh dunia.

Banyak pengguna MySpace yang mem-posting konten yang bersifat negatif di halaman pribadinya. Yang paling banyak adalah gambar-gambar berbau pornografi dan kata-kata yang tidak sopan, yang sifatnya memprovokasi atau mengajak pengguna lainnya untuk berbuat hal yang serupa.

YouTube meskipun ada perjanjian dengan penggunanya untuk tidak mem-posting video klip yang sifatnya negatif. Tetapi tetap saja tidak mampu mengkontrol video klip yang diposting di situsnya. Tidak sedikit video klip yang diposting mengandung unsur pornografi, kekerasan dan pelanggaran hak cipta. Ingat kasus YouTube, dimana salah satu video klip yang diposting memperlihatkan lima gadis sedang memukuli seorang gadis. Kasus lainnya adalah salah satu video klip memperlihatkan penghinaan terhadap Raja Thailand. Padahal Raja Thailand sangat dihormati di negerinya. Kejadian ini menyebabkan situs YouTube sempat diblok di negeri tersebut.

Dari ketiga contoh diatas kita dapat mengambil kesimpulan bahwa selain kita mendapat manfaat dan kemudahan dari Web 2.0. Kita juga harus siap apa dampak negatif yang kita dapat dari Web 2.0. Bagaimanapun juga internet dapat mempermudah hidup kita dalam memperoleh informasi, bersosialisasi dan komunikasi. Tetapi kita juga jangan lupa bahwa internet adalah daerah yang tak bertuan yang memungkinkan sebagian orang untuk berbuat hal yang negatif demi keuntungan dirinya sendiri.

Selama ini software komersial selalu memproteksi aplikasinya dengan berbagai macam sistem perlindungan agar terhindar dari usaha-usaha yang dianggap "menyimpang" oleh para pengguna software tersebut. Karena berkaitan dengan masalah lisensi, keuntungan, kerja keras para developer, biaya riset serta pengembangan, dan masa depan software dan pembuatnya. Maka para pembuat software komersial ini berusaha semaksimal mungkin membuat perlindungan yang secanggih mungkin terhadap softwarenya agar sulit dibobol.

Berbagai macam proteksi terhadap software komersial tersebut biasanya terdiri dari dua macam yaitu:

1. Pembatasan fitur atau kelengkapan.
2. Pembatasan waktu pemakaian.

Kedua jenis pembatasan ini pada software komersial biasanya berbeda-beda tergantung kebijakan dari pembuatnya. Kita mengenal pembatasan pada software komersial ini dengan istilah "shareware" dan "trial". Oleh karena itu biasanya para pengguna dikenakan biaya tertentu untuk memperoleh lisensi atau mengaktifkan software tersebut tanpa adanya pembatasan.

Oleh karena itulah banyak bermunculan para "orang-orang kreatif" yang berusaha untuk membobol sistem proteksi software komersial tersebut dengan berbagai cara; biasanya membuat aplikasi berukuran kecil atau metode untuk mengakali software tersebut agar bekerja secara penuh tanpa adanya pembatasan.

Anda yang biasanya membeli/mendownload software bajakan atau ilegal, biasanya disertakan tiap softwarenya dengan sebuah aplikasi untuk mengaktifkan software komersial tersebut secara penuh. Jika tidak tersedia Anda bisa mencarinya di internet; bahkan beberapa situs mengkhususkan dirinya menyediakan apliksi-aplikasi ilegal ini. Yang harus diperhatikan adalah dampak yang Anda dapatkan dari memakai aplikasi ilegal ini, karena tidak sedikit aplikasi-aplikasi ilegal ini dibungkus dengan berbagai macam spyware, adware bahkan virus dan trojan.

Setelah dicoba oleh penulis memang ada beberapa software komersial yang dapat di-reset waktu pemakaiannya agar kembali ke waktu awal. Sebagian lagi ada yang tidak berhasil, mungkin karena sistem proteksi yang belum didukungnya. Cara memakainya-pun cukup mudah karena tanpa proses installasi. Satu hal yang cukup aneh adalah beberapa software AntiVirus mengenalinya sebagai sebuah trojan dan langsung menghapusnya jika software AntiVirus tersebut bekerja secara Real Time.

Memang jika diamati secara seksama aplikasi ini membuat beberapa perubahan pada sistem komputer. Antara lain membuat akses share dan permintaan terhadap firewall agar aplikasi ini dapat berkomunikasi secara langsung dengan internet. Oleh karena itu saya sarankan berhati-hati dalam menggunakan aplikasi ini. Karena alasan menghormati hak cipta dan keamanan saya tidak memberikan link download Trial-Reset ini.

Saya membuat tulisan ini dengan tujuan edukasi bukan untuk menyarankan pengguna untuk melanggar hak cipta sebuah software. Hargailah kerja keras para pembuatnya. Gunakan software open source atau freeware jika Anda keberatan dengan uang yang Anda keluarkan untuk penggunaan software komersial.

Bagaimana Mengembalikan Account Windows XP Yang Hilang

Apakah Anda pernah mengalami kejadian dimana Anda tidak bisa masuk ke komputer Anda. Ketika Log Off atau masuk pertama kali di Windows XP tiba-tiba account/user name Anda hilang tanpa jejak. Anda berusaha semaksimal mungkin untuk masuk ke Windows XP dengan memasukkan berkali-kali password Anda, tetapi tetap saja tidak bisa masuk ke Windows XP.

Sebenarnya yang terjadi adalah Anda tidak kehilangan account Windows XP, tetapi Windows XP gagal men-set account Windows XP Anda, sehingga account Anda hilang pada saat Windows XP di-shutdown atau di-restart. Jika di periksa secara seksama di Control Panel bagian User Accounts, di situ Anda akan mendapati account Anda telah hilang meskipun setting profile masih ada.

Saya mengalami kejadian ini beberapa kali setelah saya memainkan salah satu game di komputer saya. Setelah ber-google ria, saya mendapati jawaban yang tidak memuaskan untuk permasalahan ini. Akhirnya setelah melakukan percobaan sederhana, saya dapat mengembalikan account yang hilang tersebut. Kenapa saya bilang sederhana? karena trik ini hanya memanfaatkan account pengguna lain yang mempunyai hak administrator.

Begini cara menggunakannya: Masuklah ke komputer Anda dengan menggunakan account/user lain yang mempunyai hak administrator. Buka System Restore lalu pilih Restore my computer to an earlier time lalu klik [Next]. Pilih tanggal dimana komputer Anda masih dalam keadaan normal yaitu ketika account Windows XP Anda masih ada. Selanjutnya klik [Next] kemudian biarkan System Restore melaksanakan tugasnya. Setelah komputer melakukan Restart dan tiba di Welcome Screen di situ Anda bisa mendapati account Anda telah muncul kembali, Anda bisa langsung masuk dengan memilih user name dan memasukkan password Anda. Setelah berhasil masuk, Anda bisa langsung Log Off dan masuk ke account Anda semula.

Kirim SMS Gratis Via "Social Networking"

Dunia pertemanan bisa dijalin dimana saja, tidak terkecuali di internet. Hal ini ditandai dengan menjamurnya berbagai situs pertemanan di dunia maya. Kecenderungan maraknya situs pertemanan ini dikarenakan tingginya kebutuhan para pengguna internet untuk bersosialisasi secara massal tidak terbatas hanya di lingkungan sekitar rumah, sekolah atau kerja.

Sebelum era "social networking" ini "boom", para pengguna internet sudah menikmati metode pertemanan via internet melalui jalur chat yang diwakili oleh IRC dan ICQ. Dan pada akhirnya mengalami puncaknya dengan diwakili oleh MySpace di Amerika dan Eropa serta Friendster di Asia dan Indonesia.

Salah satu situs baru "social networking" yang sekarang banyak mendapat perhatian dari para penggunanya adalah Wadja, yang bisa diakses di www.wadja.com. Kelebihan situs ini dibandingkan para pesaingnya adalah sifatnya yang mobile, dalam arti bisa diakses melalui telepon seluler dan tersedianya fasilitas SMS gratis ke seluruh dunia. Kelebihan lainnya adalah minimnya iklan yang disertakan, beda dengan Friendster yang penuh dengan iklan yang berakibat pada borosnya bandwith sehingga waktu aksesnya menjadi lambat.

Berbicara tentang SMS gratis sebetulnya banyak situs internet yang menyediakan layanan SMS gratis. Tetapi dari beberapa situs tersebut banyak yang sudah menutup layanannya, mengenakan tarif, khusus provider tertentu saja atau hanya melayani beberapa negara saja. Mau tidak mau akhirnya kita menggunakan alternatif lainnya seperti layanan instant messaging yang dalam hal ini diwakili oleh Yahoo! Messenger dan ICQ.

Alternatif lainnya adalah tentu saja kita menggunakan Wadja. Untuk memulainya Anda bisa langsung mendaftar di situsnya dan dilanjutkan dengan pengisian data diri dan link profil Anda. Pengiriman SMS dilakukan dengan waktu yang cukup cepat, tetapi sayangnya dibalik semua yang gratis pasti ada yang harus dikorbankan, dalam hal ini sender sms mengatas-namakan wadja.com dan terdapat link profil Anda pada bagian bawah pesan. Bagaimanapun juga sesuai sifat orang Indonesia yang menyukai barang gratisan kayaknya OK saja, toh kita kan gak rugi!. Jadi tunggu apa lagi mari kita mencari teman dan kirim SMS gratis...!

Berkirim Pesan di Jaringan dengan WinChat

Barangkali, Anda sudah mengenal aplikasi WinPopup, yaitu aplikasi yang berfungsi untuk berkirim pesan antar komputer di dalam satu jaringan (LAN). Sayangnya aplikasi ini hanya dapat berjalan di Windows 98 dan ME.
Bagi pemakai Windows XP disediakan aplikasi Net Send yang dapat dijalankan melalui Command Prompt. Sebagai orang awam yang tidak begitu paham perintah command line mungkin Anda akan merasa kesulitan dan kerepotan dalam menggunakan aplikasi Net Send ini.
Sebenarnya bagi pengguna Windows XP terdapat aplikasi chatting yang sudah berbentuk antarmuka/GUI, daripada menggunakan perintah Net Send yang berbentuk command line.
Aplikasi tersebut dinamakan WinChat. Untuk menggunakannya berikut ini adalah caranya.
1. Pastikan Anda sudah terhubung ke jaringan.
2. Untuk menjalankannya klik [Start] > [Run] lalu ketik winchat dan tekan [Enter].
3. Untuk berkirim pesan antar komputer Anda harus memasukkan nama komputer yang ingin diajak berkomunikasi dengan mengklik [Conversation] > [Dial] atau mengklik ikon bergambar dial telepon di kiri atas jendela.
4. Masukkan nama komputer dan tekan [OK].
Selanjutnya, WinChat akan men-dial komputer yang bersangkutan. Jika komputer yang dihubungi menjawab panggilan, maka Anda siap melakukan percakapan dengan mengetik pesan Anda di kolom atas, sedangkan lawan bicara Anda di kolom bawah.

Jika Lupa Password Windows XP

Anda lupa akan password dari akun Windows XP yang Anda miliki? Ada virus yang mengubah password dari akun Windows XP yang Anda miliki? Bila Anda sebelumnya telah membuat Password Reset Disk, hal ini tentunya tidak menjadi masalah. Cukup gunakan Password Reset Disk dan Anda bisa mengubah password yang ada sesuai keinginan. Berikut PCplus akan menunjukkan cara membuat Password Reset Disk.
Demi alasan keamanan, biasanya satu komputer yang digunakan oleh beberapa pengguna menggunakan setiap password yang berbeda untuk tiap penggunanya.
Pemberian password yang berbeda ini bertujuan untuk menyimpan profil dan pengaturan setiap akun, agar nantinya setiap pengguna yang terdaftar pada komputer tersebut memiliki tingkatan yang berbeda serta dapat menggunakan Windows XP sesuai dengan kehendaknya tanpa mengganggu pengaturan pengguna lain. Pada NTFS, folder dokumen juga dapat diatur agar hanya dapat dibuka oleh akun pemilik dokumen.
Tanpa password atau salah memasukkan password, pengguna tidak dapat masuk ke komputer tersebut. Oleh karena itu, sangatlah vital untuk selalu ingat akan password dari akun miliknya. Tapi, bisa saja password berubah karena ketidaksengajaan atau ulah virus.
Sebagai tindakan pencegahan, sebaiknya Anda membuat Password Reseter dengan utiliti bawaan Windows XP, yaitu Password Reset Disk.
Password Reset Disk ini nantinya berfungsi utntuk me-reset password yang telah ada dan menggantinya dengan password baru. Anda tinggal memasukkan password baru tersebut menggunakan akun bersangkutan.
Meskipun nantinya Anda mengubah password dari akun Anda beberapa kali, Anda hanya perlu membuat Password Reset Disk sekali. Password Reset Disk tersebut tentunya hanya dapat digunakan untuk akun bersangkutan saja. Password Reset Disk sebuah akun tidak dapat digunakan untuk akun lainnya.
Untuk membuat Password Reset Disk ini diperlukan sebuah floopy disk atau USB flash disk, untuk meletakkan file yang diperlukan. Bila yang digunakan USB flash disk, pasang terlebih dahulu USB flash disk tersebut agar dapat dideteksi dan dipilih pada pembuatan Password Reset Disk.
Langkah-langkah yang PCplus gunakan untuk membuat Password Reset Disk bisa Anda lihat berikut ini.
1. Pada Windows XP klik [Start] > [Control Panel] > [User Accounts].
2. Pada jendela [User Accounts] klik akun Anda. Sebelumnya pastikan pilihan [Use the Welcome Screen] sudah diaktifkan pada pilihan [Change the way users log on or off].
3. Klik pilihan [Prevent a forgotten password] yang ada di sebelah kiri di jendela yang muncul.
4. Berikutnya tekan tombol [Next] pada jendela [Welcome to the Forgotten Password Wizard].
5. Pada jendela [Create a Password Reset Disk] masukkan floopy disk atau USB flash disk pada PC. Pilih piranti yang ingin digunakan, lalu klik [Next].
6. Masukkan password dari akun Anda saat ini pada jendela yang muncul, lalu klik [Next].
7. Tunggulah hingga proses pembuatan Password Reset Disk selesai. Ikuti dengan menekan [Next].
8. Pada jendela [Completing the Forgotten Password Wizard], klik [Finish]. Keluarkan floopy disk atau cabut USB flash disk dari PC. Tutup juga jendela tersisa yang tidak ingin digunakan lagi.
9. Nantinya ketika diperlukan, pada [Welcome Screen] klik tanda panah berwarna hijau dan klik [use your password reset disk].
10.Pada jendela [Welcome to the Password Reset Wizard] klik [Next].
11.Masukkan Password Reset Disk yang telah Anda buat sebelumnya, floopy disk atau USB flash disk. Pilih piranti yang menjadi Password Reset Disk, lalu klik [Next].
12. Masukkan password baru yang Anda inginkan termasuk konfirmasinya. Setelah selesai klik [Next].
13. Tutup jendela yang muncul kemudian dengan menekan [Finish].
14. Masukkan password baru yang telah Anda buat tadi untuk masuk pada Windows XP.

Singkirkan Windows Messenger

Sejak diluncurkannya Windows XP, aplikasi instant messenger buatan Microsoft yaitu Windows Messenger sudah terinstall secara otomatis. Tetapi sayang banyak para pengguna lebih senang menggunakan aplikasi instant messenger lain, seperti Yahoo! Messenger dan ICQ daripada Windows Messenger. Untuk menyingkirkan aplikasi Windows Messenger dari Windows XP, kita dapat menggunakan beberapa cara. Berikut cara-cara tersebut ini.
* Untuk menonaktifkan Windows Messenger, buka menu [Start] > [All Programs] lalu klik [Windows Messenger]. Pada jendela Windows Messenger pilih [Tools] > [Option] buka tab [Preferences], buang semua tanda centang pada bagian [General] dan [Alerts].
* Untuk menonaktifkan Windows Messenger di Outlook Express, klik [Start] > [Run] ketik regedit lalu klik [OK] untuk menjalankan Registry Editor. Cari subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express, klik kanan jendela Registry Editor lalu pilih [New] > [Dword Value] dan beri nama Hide Messenger. Klik ganda [Hide Messenger] lalu isi value data dengan angka 2. Tekan [OK], tutup Registry Editor dan Restart Windows.
* Untuk menghapus Windows Messenger dari Windows XP SP1 dan SP2: Klik [Start] > [Control Panel] > [Add or Remove Programs] lalu klik [Add/Remove Windows Components] di jendela sebelah kiri. Pada bagian Components cari dan buang tanda centang pada Windows Messenger lalu klik [Next] dan [Finish].

Mematikan Komputer dari Jarak Jauh

Ada kalanya suatu komputer dalam jaringan tidak bisa bekerja selama 24 jam. Alasannya beragam. Bisa jadi komputer dimatikan, upgrade perangkat keras, instalasi ulang, atau konfigurasi ulang.
Anda sebagai administrator jaringan dapat mematikan komputer di jaringan (LAN) dari jarak jauh (remote) untuk keperluan tersebut. Untuk melakukannya Anda dapat mengikuti langkah-langkah berikut ini.
1. Buka menu [Start] > [Run] ketik shutdown -i lalu klik [OK].
2. Pada jendela Remote Shutdown Dialog Anda bisa memasukkan komputer yang ingin dimatikan dengan memilih mengklik [Add] jika Anda mengetahui lokasi komputer tersebut atau [Browse] jika Anda tidak mengetahui lokasi komputer tersebut. Cara mencari komputer yang diinginkan adalah dengan memasukkan kategori komputer seperti nama komputer, pemilik dan role lalu klik [Find Now], jika sudah ditemukan tinggal tekan tombol [OK] pada komputer yang dipilih.
3. Jika komputer yang diinginkan sudah dipilih, selanjutnya tentukan tindakan yang perlu dilakukan pada komputer tersebut: shutdown, restart, atau logoff. Setelah itu, beri tanda centang pada pilihan [Warn users of the action] agar pemberitahuan dilakukan pada pengguna komputer beberapa detik sebelum komputer dimatikan.
4. Pada bagian Shutdown Event Tracker Anda bisa memilih beberapa alasan, kenapa Anda ingin mematikan komputer komputer tersebut. Hapus tanda centang [Planned] apabila kegiatan tersebut tidak terencana, atau biarkan tanda centang [Planned] bila memang kegiatan tersebut memang terencana. Sebaiknya Anda juga mengisi alasan yang lebih terperinci pada kolom Comment agar pengguna komputer dapat memahaminya.
5. Klik [OK] untuk melaksanakan perintah tersebut.

Windows Explorer dari Command Prompt

Mungkin Anda sudah terbiasa mencari file atau dokumen dengan Windows Explorer. Pernahkan Anda membuka Windows Explorer pada Command Prompt? Memang sedikit merepotkan, tetapi tidak ada salahnya untuk mencoba.
Yang perlu Anda lakukan adalah membuka Command Prompt dengan mengklik [Start] > [Run] ketik cmd dan tekan [Enter]. Terbukalah jendela Windows Explorer.
Lokasi yang ingin dituju bisa Anda tentukan sendiri sesuai keinginan Anda. Contohnya, jika Anda ingin menuju Program Files di drive C, maka ketiklah explorer C:\program files lalu tekan [Enter].
Jika cara di atas sedikit merepotkan , Anda bisa menggunakan cara berikut sebagai jalan pintas jika Anda sering membuka suatu folder untuk menuju file atau dokumen.
Contohnya Anda ingin membuka Program Files di drive C. berikut ini langkah-langkahnya.
1. Buka Notepad dari menu [Start] > [All Programs] > [Accesesories] > [Notepad].
2. Pada jendela Notepad ketik:
@explorer c:\program files
@echo
3. Pilih menu [File] > [Save As].
4. Pada bagian Save As Type pilih [All Files].
5. Beri nama file tersebut dengan exp.bat lalu simpan dilokasi yang Anda tentukan.
6. Lalu klik dua kali untuk menjalankan file tersebut.
Selanjutnya tanpa jalan yang panjang, Anda sudah berada pada lokasi tersebut. Selamat mencoba!

Menyimpan Extension dan Theme Firefox

Mozilla Firefox didukung banyak extension dan theme. Anda bisa dengan mudah menemukan extension dan theme di situs resmi firefox di https://addons.mozilla.org/.
Tetapi sayang untuk menginstall extension dan theme, Firefox langsung mengunduh dan menginstall tanpa memberi kita pilihan untuk menyimpannya. Alhasil, jika komputer atau Firefox mendapat masalah dan perlu diinstall ulang, kita harus melakukan proses tersebut kembali. Ini jelas memakan waktu dan biaya akses Internet.
Ada cara lain untuk menyimpan extension dan theme tersebut, yaitu Anda harus memakai browser selain Firefox (Seperti Internet Explorer atau Opera), untuk mengunduhnya.
Berikut ini caranya:
1. Di situs tempat pengunduhan extension dan themes, pilih yang Anda suka, klik link tersebut lalu unduh dan simpan di tempat yang telah Anda tentukan.
2. Untuk menginstallnya ada sedikit perbedaan antara extension dan theme. Untuk extension Anda bisa langsung menginstallnya dengan membuka Firefox, klik [File] > [Open File] arahkan dan pilih extension yang telah Anda unduh dan simpan sebelumnya (mempunyai ekstensi .xpi). Klik [Open], lalu terbukah jendela Sofware Installation. Tunggu hitungan mundur dan klik [Install Now]. Anda harus menutup Firefox dan membukanya kembali agar extension tersebut dapat dipergunakan.
3. Sedangkan untuk theme ada sedikit perbedaan. Jika Anda telah mengunduh theme Firefox tersebut (mempunyai ekstensi .jar), lalu menyimpannya di lokasi yang telah Anda tentukan, Anda harus mengubah ekstensi theme tersebut yang sebelumnya .jar menjadi .xpi dengan cara: Klik [Start] > [Control Panel] lalu pilih [Folder Options], buka tab [View]. Hapus tanda centang pada pilihan [Hide Extensions For Known File Types], klik [Apply] lalu [OK]. Sorot file theme tersebut, klik kanan, klik [Rename] dan ubah ekstensinya dari .jar menjadi .xpi. Selanjutnya cara instalasi theme sama dengan extension.

Struktur Pohon di Command Prompt

Pengguna komputer sudah biasa menggunakan Windows dengan struktur pohonnya yang berfungsi menampilkan folder suatu drive. Sudah jelas kalau Windows Explorer berada di lingkungan Windows.
Bandingkan tampilan Windows Explorer yang menyerupai cabang-cabang pohon dengan Command Prompt di mana pengguna harus mengetik baris perintah yang lumayan panjang dan lama apalagi jika letak suatu folder atau file berada di lokasi paling ujung.
Tapi, tahukah Anda bahwa sesungguhnya Command Prompt dapat menampilkan struktur pohon dari suatu folder atau file? Tampilannya memang sederhana tetapi setidaknya Anda mendapatkan gambaran tentang letak suatu folder atau file secara bercabang persis seperti Windows Explorer.
Untuk menggunakannya Anda dapat mengikuti langkah-langkah berikut ini.
1. Buka Command Prompt dengan mengklik [Start] > [Run] ketik cmd lalu tekan [Enter].
2. Agar tampilan "pohonnya" muncul, Anda dapat memakai perintah TREE.
Format penulisannya sebagai berikut: TREE [drive:] [path] [/F] [/A].
/F berfungsi untuk menampilkan semua file dari setiap folder.
/A untuk tampilan dengan karakter ASCII yang lebih pendek.
Contoh : tree c:\windows /F akan menampilkan struktur pohon dari folder Windows di drive C: lengkap dengan semua isi folder dan file.
Contoh lain : tree c:\windows /A akan menampilkan struktur pohon dari folder Windows di drive C: dengan menggunakan karakter ASCII di mana isi dari suatu folder tidak semuanya ditampilkan (+).

Axife FM Player 2.39 - Pemutar Sekaligus Perekam Radio

Beberapa TV tuner dilengkapi dengan perangkat lunak untuk memutar radio FM. Hanya saja, kemampuan beberapa perangkat itu sangat terbatas, seperti hanya dapat digunakan untuk mendengarkan radio saja. Beberapa memang dapat merekam siaran radio, tapi hasilnya cuma bisa disimpan dalam format WAV.
Kalau ingin mendapatkan perangkat lunak pemutar radio dengan kemampuan lebih, cobalah Axife FM Player. Unduh dari situs beralamat www.axife.com. Kemampuan lebih yang ditawarkan antara lain fungsi timeshifting, 31-band dan 10-band equalizers, perekaman yang menghasilkan hasil MP3 berkualitas tinggi, serta penggunaan kulit (skin) antarmuka yang bisa diganti.
Saat pertama kali Axife FM Player dijalankan, jendela tempat mengonfigurasi kartu suara dan TV tuner muncul. Di tempat itu pula, direktori tempat hasil perekaman, yang nantinya dilakukan, ditentukan.
Stasiun radio yang sudah di-tune bisa langsung dimasukkan ke daftar dengan cara mengklik ikon Axife FM Player di system tray, dilanjutkan dengan mengklik [Axife FM Player Settings] > [Stations] dan mengklik ikon bergambar teropong kanan dan kiri untuk menemukan stasiun. Setelah itu, klik 2 kali pada nama stasiun untuk melakukan pergantian nama, klik [Apply] lalu [OK].
Untuk merekam siaran radio, klik ikon [REC] yang berwarna merah yang berada di paling kiri atas pemutar. Sedangkan untuk menggunakan fasilitas timeshifting, tinggal geser slider bar ke posisi/waktu yang diinginkan.

Ketika seseorang memfokuskan keinginannya, maka seluruh potensi yang dimilikinya beresonansi menjadi seperti laser, ia bisa menembus penghalang-penghalang yang merintanginya dalam mencapai keinginannya. Sebaliknya, seseorang yang banyak keinginan, apalagi tidak jelas, dan tidak berusaha memfokuskan keinginannya maka sebesar apapun potensi yang dimilikinya akan menyebar dan tidak koheren, sehingga ia tidak bisa mencapai keinginannya.

Fokus merupakan cerminan dari watak tidak serakah, tidak tamak, tahu diri dan pandai membaca situasi jaman. Keinginan manusia tidak ada batasnya. Maka tidak mungkin potensinya yang terbatas bisa mencapai keinginan-keinginan yang tidak terbatas. Maka fokus adalah keharusan untuk mencapai kesuksesan.

Pada saat seseorang memilih apa keinginannya, ia harus tetap memiliki fokus, apa sebenarnya yang ia inginkan. Pemilihan keinginan yang serampangan tanpa memiliki fokus akan menimbulkan entropy, atau kekacauan. Kekacauan dalam aktualisasi berbagai potensi akan berujung pada penyesalan.

Azas fokus tidak tidak dapat menerima the magic of thinking (keajaiban berpikir besar). Tidak seluruh pikiran dan keinginan besar memperoleh kesuksesan. Malah sebaliknya berpikir tidak realistis dan tidak menyentuh kenyataan. Pemikiran dan cita-cita yang benar adalah yang terfokus, sesuai dengan kemampuan dan realizable (baca; dapat terealisasikan).

Kenapa Einstein berhasil menemukan teori Relativitas? Apakah karena ia murid terpandai? Tidak, dosen matematikanya, yaitu Prof. Minwosky-, Menyebutnya sebagai anjing bodoh. Ia berhasil karena Einstein memfokuskan dirinya dalam risetnya.
Kenapa Bill Gates sukses dalam Microsoft-nya? Karena ia memfokuskan dirinya pada DOS pada awal karirnya tahun 75-an.
Kenapa BMW sukses dalam otomotif, karena ia memfokuskan dirinya pada kendaraan otomotif yang nyaman dikendarai.
Kenapa Emha sukses sebagai budayawan? Apakah karena ia berprestasi tinggi? Sama sekali tidak, tapi karena ia memfokuskan dirinya pada masalah-masalah real di masyarakat. Kenapa banyak orang jenius yang tak sukses, tapi malah terkapar? Karena mereka rakus, ingin semua hal, sehingga tidak memperoleh semua hal.

Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager
Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"...
Damn kids. They're all alike.

But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950's technobrain,
ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder what
made him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him?
I am a hacker, enter my world...
Mine is a world that begins with school... I'm smarter than most of
the other kids, this crap they teach us bores me...
Damn underachiever. They're all alike.

I'm in junior high or high school. I've listened to teachers explain
for the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. "No, Ms.
Smith, I didn't show my work. I did it in my head..."
Damn kid. Probably copied it. They're all alike.

I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is
cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I
screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me...
Or feels threatened by me...
Or thinks I'm a smart ass...
Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here...
Damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike.

And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through
the phone line like heroin through an addict's veins, an electronic pulse is
sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is
found.
"This is it... this is where I belong..."
I know everyone here... even if I've never met them, never talked to
them, may never hear from them again... I know you all...
Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again. They're all alike...

You bet your ass we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby food at
school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat that you did let slip
through were pre-chewed and tasteless. We've been dominated by sadists, or
ignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us willing
pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert.

This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the
beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying
for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by profiteering gluttons, and
you call us criminals. We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek
after knowledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color,
without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals.
You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us
and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals.

Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is
that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like.
My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.

I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual,
but you can't stop us all... after all, we're all alike.

Memoir Of William Shakespeare

Of all the Elizabethan poets, William Shakespeare is the most famous. He was born in 1564 in the village of Stratford-on-Avon to an old and prominent family. His father, John Shakespeare, was a glover and wool dealer with a shop in Stratford.

Shakespeare entered grammar school in 1571 at the age of seven. Elizabethan education was based on learning by rote, and he had an excellent aural memory. His education in Latin left an unmistakable impression on his vocabulary. In the upper school, he studied logic and rhetoric, and excelled in dialectic argument, a skill he later put to use in his plays. Shakespeare learned Greek mythology and Roman history. When he began to write, he showed a marvelous ability to make a little knowledge go a longway.

Shakespeare married while he was still a minor and needed his parents' permission. His bride, Anne Hathaway, was twenty-six years old. A daughter, Susanna, was born to the young couple in 1583, followed by twins, Hamnet and Judith, twenty months later. Shakespeare supported his family by working in his father's shop and, according to some sources, as a schoolmaster in the countryside. However, in the late 1580s, he appeared in London. Tradition has it that he fled to London for fear of prosecution for stealing a deer from the park of a local nobleman. Another theory is that he abandoned his wife and children and escaped to London to seek his fortune. It seems likely, however, that Shakespeare did not abandon his family. In fact, his wife may have accompanied him to London.

In 1588 London was filled with martial activities and excitement, for it was the time of the defeat of the Spanish Armada. The mood of national pride and self-confidence carried over into the theater. Drama was a popular national activity appreciated by everyone from Queen Elizabeth to the women of the street. The Queen was a clever, cultivated woman who encouraged Elizabeth an drama. It was an extraordinary time for a man of Shakespeare's talents to burst upon the scene. Shakespeare apprenticed as an actor, and soon the young man from Stratford, with his sharp ear for language, became a playwright as well.

Richard Field, a friend from Stratford, was apprenticed to one of the leading printers in London, and it was this firm that published Shakespeare's first poem, "Venus and Adonis," in 1593, followed by "Lucrece" in 1594. Shakespeare's plays had not brought him much recognition, but his poems caused a stir in the literary world.

As a member of a group of actors known as the Earl of Pembroke's Men, Shakespeare came under the influence of Christopher Marlowe, one of the greatest dramatists of the period. Marlowe's stormy personality made an impact on the young Shakespeare. There are echoes of Marlowe throughout his plays. Shakespeare has been described as a "magpie, an inveterate borrower." He borrowed names, phrases and images from other poets and dramatists, but he improved what he borrowed and adapted it to his own genius.

The theaters were closed between 1592 and 1594 because of a plague. With the reopening of the theaters in 1594, Shakespeare joined the Lord Chamberlain's Company (later called the King's Players) and remained with them until his retirement. When the Globe Theatre was built in 1599, Shakespeare was a shareholder. By this time, he apparently was making a good income.

Some of Shakespeare's sonnets were written during the period when the theaters were closed, and they present one of the great mysteries of literature: To what extent were the sonnets autobiographical? Some are addressed to a young man and some to a "Dark Lady." Although it is impossible to determine what is fact and what is fiction in this literary puzzle, there is no denying the genius of the sonnets. Read, for example, sonnet XXIX.

By 1600, the political scene was changing. The Earl of Essex was executed in 1601 and the public mood was one of disillusionment. From 1601 to 1603, Shakespeare wrote his greatest works, the four tragedies: Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth. Some of his friends thought that these plays were evidence of mental strain and exhaustion, but Shakespeare was prosperous, and he was free to explore his mind to its ultimate depths.

Shakespeare's literary work covers a period of twenty years.During that time he wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets. None of the plays was published and no manuscripts exist. Several years after Shakespeare's death in 1616, two of his friends collected his writings in the "First Folio." Although the authenticity of the text in the "First Folio" is somewhat doubtful, it remains the ultimate authority on Shakespeare's work. The inscription on the "First Folio" is by Ben Jonson, Shakespeare's contemporary. Jonson wrote of the greatest figure in English literature,

"He was not of an age but for all time!"
